This past month has held a few perfume bottle projects, which just warms my heart! They’re such an interesting and unique gift!

This particular set was designed to match the bride’s wedding invitations and was a gift from the mother of the bride to her daughter on her wedding day. (If you don’t know, Jo Malone is designed to layer and pair scents, so these two are the two the bride selected to wear on her special day!)

The bride’s invitations may look familiar to you, we posted the pictures a while back. Her perfume bottles pair beautifully with her blush and blue invitation suite.

The second horoscope project I had the pleasure of pairing with Flutter Magazine on was the Taurus horoscope.

APRIL 20 — MAY 20: You love to keep things simple, but you also enjoy the luxuriousness of fine items. Splurge on a simple custom-made lace dress on your special day. Add elements of nature into your décor by using fruits for fun coloring. With earth being your zodiac element, utilize woods for texture to compliment the citrus on your tables. Gift your husband a leather embossed wallet on your wedding day (Will Leather Goods has a great selection!). He will carry it with him everywhere he goes. Set your sights on Costa Rica for an unforgettable honeymoon adventure.

It was such a pleasure to work with Flutter Magazine on their 6th issue. We took each horoscope and designed a tablescape around the traits associated with each sign. Flutter Magazine complied an amazing group of designers and photographer to bring the shoot to life.

OCTOBER 23 — NOVEMBER 21: We are drawn to you, Scorpio bride. You are magnetic and irresistible. Be sure to emphasize your fiery spirit with bright colors on your tables and invitations. Utilize your lucky gem, the Garnet, to add a pop of color to your own attire. Peonies draped on your cake will make your guests gasp. The lush peony can spice up your bridesmaids bouquets too. Be sure to include elements of lace in your veil and dress. We suggest you jet off to Spain for your honeymoon.

Collection | Kingsly Suite

I have always adored this suite - this particular shade of blue is one of my favorites! All of the designs in the Design Studio collection begin with a design board. From there, a bride is able to select the elements she likes and arrange them in any fashion she chooses! I love the hand drawn anchor on this one, and the subtle texture on the watercolor stripes is just lovely!

Bespoke | design boards

Both with full invitation suites and branding suites, I like to do a board like this...they're a wonderful visual tool for brides as well as business owner to see all of their design elements and color palette in one place. Plus I think they look so pretty!

Instagram Weekly

This week on Instagram...this is such a gorgeous suite that I have the pleasure of creating. It included a watercolor pattern of gorgeous blown open roses and buds and it was mixed with a pale watercolor stripe. The suite itself was all hand lettered on deckled edge paper, tied up with thread and assembled with a wax monogram seal. More to come!

...in process - A Midsummers Night Dream

Like all our designs, we start with some sketches. This one was particularly in need of a layout since I knew there would be quite a few elements and characters in play. By sketching it out, I have a better idea of where I can use what elements, how the pieces translate from the invitation all the way through to the menus and placecards, as well as I have a better understanding of what elements will need to be created.

From the sketches, I started created the artwork with pencil and paper, then went back through and inked it all in. This was a case that i wanted to leave some of the lines visible, so I choose to use ink rather than just leaving the pencil.

...then comes the mess. Im grateful that I have enough space that I can get out all my toys and leave them out if need be. I started painting these in last night and finished them this morning.
